Easter
This year for Easter we decided to do something a little different. We usually do most holidays at my mom's house, but we decided to try something at our house this year, hoping to do something a little different. I told the kids we were going to have Easter at our house and told them we could have whatever they wanted for dinner. When I asked Connor, he excitedly exclaimed, "Waffles mom!!! Can we have waffles?!?" Why of course we can! We decided to do a little breakfast extravaganza complete with waffles, homemade donuts, biscuits and gravy, quiche, hash browns, and fresh fruit. It was soo yummy and the kids loved it! We just might have our selves a little new family tradition!
That morning the kids also got to open their Easter baskets and LOVED getting all of the candy. We also did Easter egg hunts later that afternoon with the whole family, and the kids had so much fun hiding and finding the eggs. We also tried to explain more to the kids about the true meaing of Easter, and about Christ and the resurrection. I am not quite sure if they caught on or understood, however, they have been making interesting comments about asking me if Jesus being dead lately. lol. Never realized how hard it is explaining the atonement and resurrection to a small child, although, I know they can feel the spirit and God's love for them.
