Connorisms: Funny and Disturbing things my son has said lately (don't read if TMI offends you:)
C: Mom, can I have a little tiny cracker?
M: Sure! Go ahead bud!
C: Oh, I meant a big cracker.
M: Right....
(Convo between Connor and Eric)
C: Dad when I tell you to do something you better do it!
D: Yeah...don't think it works that way bud!
(After finding a certain item in our bedside table;)
C: Mom, what's this?
M: Umm....that is....lotion bud.
C: Can I use some?
M: That lotion is only for big people...
C: Why?
M: Just because...
C: Well how do you use it?
M: Umm...its just special lotion.
C: Well how does it work mom?
M: You want to watch a show?
(After scolding Kenna for loosing her shoes for the 3rd time in about 15 min)
C: Mom, don't yell at Kenna! You need to show kindness mom!
M: That is true, I made a bad choice by yelling, but I am talking to McKenna right now.
C: You're not talking like Jesus mom.
(Randomly)
C: Is Jesus dead mom?
M: Long explanation about how Jesus is alive and resurrected..
C. But where does Jesus live mom?
M: more long explanation
C: Oh...
(After nicely telling the kids to get back in bed...seriously I didn't even raise my voice)
C: Mom, your kind of scaring me!
M: Connor, I wouldn't scare you if you were in bed!
C: But...your scaring me mom!
(randomly)
C: Mom... I just like Jesus and monster trucks.
(after eating)
C: Mom, my belly hurts really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really bad!
(after tasting dinner)
C: my tongue says that is yucky mom!
(in morning)
M: hi connor!
C: I'm not connor.
M: oh...who are you?
C: i'm jake
M: oh, hi jake!
(when playing with Maylee)
C: May-may likes me mom!
M: yeah, she loves you bud!
C: mom, May-may kicked me!
M: She is just excited bud, she doesn't know she kicked you..
C: She pushed me too mom!
(at the doctor's office)
Connor first points to the guy with tats sitting across from us
C: Look mom, its a bad guy!
M: Shh....He is not bad, we just don't know him.
C: No mom he's a bad guy! And he's really mean too!
(All the time when talking to Maylee)
C: Hey sweetie pie!!
(When in the car driving)
C: Mom look at all the freaking cars! (oops, hope I didn't teach him that one!)
(playing with Maylee)
M- Connor, do you want to help me feed Maylee?
C- No!! I don't have boo-boobs silly!
(snack time)
C - mom I'm thirsty
M - Okay, you want some milk bud?
C - Just not you're milk mom!
(randomly)
C- Mom, that shirt looks really big on you!
C - Your legs are soooo big mom!
(every night when Eric gets home)
C: You better get me dad!
C: you want to watch me dad?
(pointing to a random guy walking past us with long hair)
C: that's a girl mom
M: actually that's a boy with long hair
C: boys don't have long hair silly
(often when telling us a story about himself)
C: mom when I was little, I.....
M: when you were little huh?
(after getting Connor dressed for the 3rd time in one day!)
M: Connor, why did you take your clothes off again?
C: Because I'm camping mom!
M: You can still wear your clothes while you're playing camping though.
C: I can't mom, I'm camping!
(after running to the kitchen cabinet and finding a knife)
M: Ummm...why are you getting a knife?
C: To cut things!
(took him on a date to McDonalds to get ice cream)
M: Trying to talk to him about anything I think he might be interested in.
C: Mom, can you please just stop talking?
M: Oh....kay....
Just love this boy and the crazy, funny things that come from his mouth!
First Bites!
This sweet girl got to try oatmeal for the first time this week! I was planning on waiting until she was 6 months to start solids, but since she has stopped sleeping through the night, I decided to go ahead and give it a try! Her face was so funny when she first tried it, she seriously didn't know what to do with it! I think overall she really enjoyed it though, and the good great news is that she slept through the night after trying it! I think the oatmeal is here to stay!
This is when things started to get a little messy!
Guess this food thing is all right!

Love this little chubs!!!
Maylee is 4 Months Old!
Just realized that today is Maylee's four month birthday! Can't believe how the time has flown by and that she is already four months. Maylee is the most calm, laid back, happy, and good tempered baby I have ever met! She seriously smiles all the time, sleeps through the night, and hardly ever cries! She is such a sweet baby and joy to have around. It has been fun this time to just really enjoy the time and to be able to have the time to just spoil and love on one baby. I loved when the twins were babies, but I always felt so guilty because with two newborns, neither one gets all that much attention. It's been astonishing to me how much easier just one healthy baby is!
Maylee is now up to 13 pounds exactly. She has started reaching some new miles stones including rolling both ways, laughing, cooing, smiling, starting to hold a rattle, being able to sit in a bumbo, and bringing her hands and feet to her mouth. She also loves her brother and sister, and loves to watch them play and she always smiles and laughs when they talk to her. This girl also loves alone time with her mama, and just to be snuggled and rocked. I just LOVE this stage that she is in and wish it would never end!! So wish I could just freeze time right now!
Happy Halloween!
We had a great Halloween over here at the Burns home! During the morning we had a fun day painting pumpkins. Later that day the kids dressed up and went to visit my grandma at her assisted living. Kenna dressed up as snow white this year and Connor dressed up as a pirate. I was lucky because Kenna borrowed one of Calli's old Halloween costumes and my mom made Connor's costume. We also bought Maylee a little lady bug sleeper that looked adorable on her.
That night we took the kids out trick or treating and then came back to our block party and ate chili and watched the movie Hotel Transylvania. The kids loved trick or treating and were way excited to stay up late and watch movies with the other neighborhood kids. The next day I let the kids each pick out ten pieces of candy to keep and then we donated the rest of their candy to the troops. I was so surprised they weren't even sad about it!(I sure was though.:) It was really awesome because the orthodontist by our house was paying kids for their candy and sending the candy to the troops. The kids cashed in on ten bucks between the two of them, and we used to money to take them to a movie and lunch the next day.

Tummy Troubles
My sweet little man has been having a lot of tummy issues this past year. He complains about his belly hurting almost everyday and has for the past few months. We finally decided to take him to a gastroenterologist to try to figure something out. They have put him on miralax and prevacid to see if it would help. The meds have maybe helped a little bit but not much. They finally decided to scope him and do an EGD, were they look in his stomach with a camera looking for allergies or any other problems. He had his scope on October 28th in the morning. He couldn't have any solid food that morning, so I took the kids to get Slurpees for breakfast, which they both thought was just awesome. Connor was pretty freaked at first when we went there. He kept asking anyone and everyone there if he had to get a shot. When the nurse told him no, his whole demeanor changed. He was so brave and tough through the whole thing. The procedure went well and they didn't really find anything except a small hiatal hernia. He was really sick to his stomach and confused after the procedure. I felt so bad for him.. We took the kids to Golden Corral that night as a reward for him being brave and having to go through it. His stomach started hurting at the restaurant though, and he ended up kind of having a rough night. Hope we can figure out what the issue is soon!

Maylee's Blessing
We blessed Maylee on October 13th, 2013 at home on a Sunday afternoon. We decided to do it at home this year, just to have it a little more intimate and close. My family and grandmother came and also, Brother Despain from the bishopric came to help with the blessing. I wish I took notes right after the blessing, but a few things that stood out to me were that I thought were special. She was blessed and told that she would be a peacemaker in the home, which couldn't be more fitting to her. She has such a sweet and calm countenance. She was also blessed that someday she would find a companion who would love her and take her to the temple to be married. She was also blessed to know of and feel Heavenly Father's love for her through her life. Eric did and great job and the spirit was really there. So grateful that Eric is a worthy priesthood holder and able to give his children blessings! It was also my mom's 50th birthday, so we had a little celebration for her birthday also! Happy Birthday Mom! Thanks for all you do! We love you!
Best family pic we could get. Maylee is about as happy in these pictures
as she looks. She so did not appreciate having that big dress on her!
I think Connor thought it was his birthday!

September 2013
September
September has been a fun and busy month in our house. It has been so nice to finally have the weather cool down a little bit, and be able to get outside in the mornings and evenings. Here is a little bit of September happenings:
1. September 1st: Found these crazies sleeping in the hallway and bedroom floor one night after we put them in bed. They so badly want to stay up late and be a part of the crowd. Cuties!
2. September 2nd: We had a fun little labor day barbeque and swim party with my parents and family. It was extra fun and special because it was my little bro's 24th birthday! So grateful to have such a great brother! Love you bro!

July and Maylee's First Month Home
July has been such a fun and crazy month at our house. It was so exciting bringing a new baby into our home and adjusting to having three kids. Ruth stayed at our house until the 12th, and it was such a godsend having extra help around. I was still really struggling with the baby blues at first and a lot of anxiety after coming home. I seriously thought I might be having a nervous break down. I was so lucky though to have a understanding husband, mother in law, and mom around to help. You really appreciate your spouse and family during hard times like that. Eric was so good to me and stayed up with me every night when I had anxiety, he got up with the baby, and would go on walks with me when I was struggling. So blessed to have such a good husband. Love him.
Maylee has been such a great baby from the start and so far so much easier than the twins. The first month she has mostly just slept during the day most days. She also sleeps pretty good at night for being so young. She wakes up about every four hours and goes back down pretty fast. Eric and I take shifts so we can both get some sleep. Eric gets up with her around 11 or 12 to feed her, and then I get up with her next around 3am. So far the sleep depravation hasn't been too bad, since the first two weeks. So far for milestones, Maylee has been able to roll from her stomach to her back. She also smiles in her sleep a lot. She also hardly cries, but when she does it is the sweetest little cry that sounds like a little lamb. When Maylee was born, she weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces, on her one week appointment she weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces, at her 2 week appointment she weighed 6 pounds and at her one month she weighed 8 pounds. It is so nice to have a baby that likes to eat and is gaining weight! The biggest struggle with her so far has been breastfeeding. She really struggles to latch on and it takes her a full hour each feeding. I am trying hard to get her off the nipple shield, and I have to pump after each feeding to keep my milk in. Such a pain but I am trying to stick with it! The twins have really done well with having a new baby in the house. I have been so proud of them! They love to lay by her and talk to her and rub her head. They just love her!
My little snuggle bug!
Swimming with dad is so much fun!
