Christmas 2012

                  Catching Up and Christmas 2012

Okay, so I literally haven't blogged in forever! Life gets so busy and every time I sit down to try to catch up, I get so overwhelmed and end up not publishing any of my posts. I also am very self conscious of writing because I feel like I am not a great writer, and  I don't want to take the time to proof read what I write. So just warning you... this is my online journal and I am just scratching down what comes to mind with out any proof reading so I  guarantee there will be a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. But if you don't care then, feel free to read on!  So I decided to back track a little and just jot down a few sentences about major happenings in the last year.

Don't remember too much about Christmas this past year, except it was really fun this year because the twins were finally old enough to understand the present thing and get really excited. I remember Christmas morning the twins were so funny when opening their presents. Kenna was just really excited about any present she got, and even more excited to have the attention all on her. Connor loved all of his toys, but loved his tool bench he got most of all. He was so funny and kept saying, "I just have to go work hard now." It was so hard to get him to open any other toys after he saw his tool bench. The kids also got little tricycles for Christmas which they loved, but it took them a little time to learn to ride. We also went to my mom's for Christmas Eve the night before, for our annual chimichanga feast. The kids had a fun time dressing up and acting out the nativity scene.

Also, on Christmas morning while we were opening presents at my mom's house we received a phone call from the elders quorum president and learned that a dear friend of the family, Sean Stapely passed away on Christmas Eve from a sudden heart attack. The rest of Christmas was a really somber day for us. Eric got to know Sean really well and became good friends with him when he served with him in the Elders quorum presidency and also in young mens. He was truly one of the best, most humble, loving, funniest, down to earth, and most genuine persons we have ever met or had the privilege of knowing. He truly blessed our lives in so many ways, and made us better people just by knowing him.  We are so grateful for the knowledge that we know we can see him again someday and that death is not the end. Our hearts ache for his family but we are so grateful for Christ's gift of the atonement and resurrection that makes it possible to be with our loved ones. This Christmas definitely gave me a much greater appreciation and love for my family and the gift they are in my life, and helped me to more fully appreciate Christ's gift for us.

Handsome Little Man

Connor Isaac Burns

My sweet Connoroo boy...oh how I love this sweet little face! I can't believe my little baby is already three years old. Its amazing how the time flies. It seems like just yesterday this little guy was just born. Truth be told, this guy was a little wild man since the day he was born! I remember looking at him a couple days after he was born, and he was under the juandice lamps, and his little 1.5 pound body flailing like a wild man. I held him for the first time about a week later and that busy boy could not even stop moving to be held.
This boy is truely a little energizer bunny, from the moment he wakes up until he goes to sleep this boy does not stop moving. He plays hard, works hard, laughs hard and just enjoys life more than any other little toddler I know. Even though he is my little mover this boy has more compassion and love in that little body than I ever thought a toddler could have. If you are sad, he will come up and compassionately pat you and say, "I'm sorry" or "You okay mommy?". He also always shares with his sister Kenna, helps her if she gets hurt, sneaks her toys to make her happy when she's in time out, and always wants to be a helper. This boy also LOVES to laugh and have fun. He has the sweetest rolling laugh that is contagious, and when he smiles he lights up a room. So lucky to have this little guy in my life!

The Twins Turn 3!

My Babies Turn 3!!!

Geez Louiz! How does time go so fast!?! Even as I speak, the twins are almost four now, but it still seems like just yesterday they were Maylee's age snuggling in my arms. Oh how I love these days and enjoy watching the funny things the twins do and say!
Can't remember much from the twins third birthday, except that I was sick and pregnant and that Ruth was in town. I remember the kids LOVED having a birthday party just for them this year and really caught on to the opening present thing. Also, it was so nice and helpful having Ruth in town, especially since I felt sick pretty much all the time. Yay for pregnancy! The kids had two small parties, one just with family, and one with a few of their friends from the babysitting co-op.  Here is a few pics from their Birthday:

Monster Truck from Grandpa! I think he likes it!

My cupcake boy!

Nanny always brings fun things for the twins to do when she is in town. This time she brought a bunch of crafts for them to paint. After Connor got paint on his underwear he stripped down to his birthday suit. I had to laugh at the paint he got all over his bum as he was painting. That paint brush is going in the trash! Haha. The kids had so much fun with all of the crafts. Thanks nanny!

My Sweet Girl

Mckenna Ruth Burns

I can't believe my babies just turened 3!!! It seems like just yetsterday they were born. I remember being so scared the day they were born. They were barely a pound and half each, and I felt so scared for the obsticals I knew they would have to face.  I am so proud of them for how hard they fought to stay alive and all they had to endure, and I am so grateful to be their mother. They bring me so much happiness and joy!
I still remember holding my Kenna girl for the first time. She was about two weeks old, and I finally got to hold my sweet little girl. I remember the way she just melted into me and how I fell in love right on the spot with that sweet little girl. What a fighting and sweet spirt that girl had in her from the begining. She may be small and petite, and have a quiet voice, but that girl sure makes up for it with her sassy personality and her love for life. Soccor!!!

We got Connor in a little city of Gilbert Dad and me soccor class. It has been so fun for Connor to have some time alone with Eric each week to go play and learn. Its been so fun to watch them bond, Connor is always so excited to go with dad. He has done really well and seems to have some natural athletic talent which was definately not passed down from my side.

So proud of my little soccor boy! Go Connor!

My little dancer girl

This fall we decided to get Mckenna in a dance class just to get her out of the house and to do something fun and socialize. My friend, Laura, owns a dance studio and it is just great. Kenna's teacher, Ms Sarah makes the class so fun for the girls, they just have a great time. Her our a few cute pics from her class:
